A little help, a lot of heart.
I enjoy helping people, sharing what I know and lending a hand. Have an idea to think through or something we could make together?

Ember: A White + B Black. Moon: A Black + B White. Captures reach your partner immediately. A drop uses your turn; pawns cannot drop on ranks 1 or 8. Promoted pieces return as pawns when captured. A blocked player may wait for a partner piece while their clock runs. Checkmate that cannot be blocked, resignation or a flag ends both boards. Shared rooms use five-minute clocks; local practice is untimed. Room-link invitations, not a public matchmaking service.

Architecture is my professional foundation. Visualization, photography, drawing, craft and digital design are how I keep exploring it. I connect technical thinking with the way people see and experience a space.
Through IMARK RENDER I work across architecture, interiors, rendering, 3D animation and immersive experiences. I also create websites and games, make apps with AI, explore automation, and enjoy building things both digitally and by hand.
I welcome design collaborations and a long-term team where I can contribute to larger projects.
MY STORY / SRI LANKA TO LUXEMBOURG
Still working on the fortune.MALAN ILANGARATHNA
Already rich in people.
I am Malan: a countryside boy from Sri Lanka, now building a life in Luxembourg with my better half. Different scenery. Same curious mind.
Growing up came with a thousand things to figure out, but there was always room for fun. Friendship, a little mischief and plenty of laughter were part of the picture. I sometimes joke that I have collected ten thousand friends and forgotten to collect the fortune. The numbers are negotiable. The people are not.
A love of drawing, art and making things nudged me towards architecture. It gave those creative experiments somewhere to go: from a line on paper to a space someone could actually live in. My graphic-design background also taught me to care about how an idea is seen, not just how it is built.
I completed a BSc (Hons) in Architecture through Liverpool John Moores University in 2020, followed by a Master's in Architecture at the University of Luxembourg in 2024. Working with architectural studios in Sri Lanka and Luxembourg brought the practical side into focus: drawings, models, renovation projects, visualizations and the conversations that turn a brief into a place.
Today, through IMARK RENDER, I bring together architectural design, interiors and visual communication. I enjoy moving between technical detail and imagination, whether I am shaping a model, framing an image or finding a clearer way to tell a project's story.
Outside work, the curiosity stays switched on. There might be a guitar, a chessboard, a camera, a cooking experiment or a new bit of technology involved. I like helping people, discovering places and making room at the table for good company, especially over a Sri Lankan meal.
The cooking part came later. Back home in Sri Lanka, Mum never let me cook; her kitchen was very much her territory. Now, at our home in Luxembourg, I am the one experimenting at the stove. If I do not cook, my better half might go hungry all day. Ha ha! And it is not only Sri Lankan food: I enjoy making yummy Chinese dishes, buonissimo Italian favourites and, when I have a little more room to experiment, some rather sexy desserts. A little responsibility, a little improvisation, and plenty of cultures at the table.
I do not have every turn of life mapped out. I explore, experiment and learn as I go, alongside the person I share it with. Wherever life takes me, I hope there is something to draw, something to make and someone to laugh with.
I am an easy-going, simple creative soul. I like cars, admire thoughtful eco-friendly ideas and have a soft spot for things with a previous life: second-hand finds, paintings and antiques. I collect a few of those treasures, and appreciate the character they bring. Not everything needs to be new to be worth keeping.
